Soccer
Soccer players must perform a range of movements. They have to be able to start, stop and change direction abruptly; sprint and jog; walk forward, backward and sideways; and jump, slide and fall over.
Key factors when designing an artificial turf pitch for soccer include:
- Sliding, traction, rotation and shock absorption
- Surface friction and skin abrasion
- Ball-to-surface interaction: roll and rebound
- Turf stability and durability
